History
For more than 30 years, the Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group, XCMG for short, has been known on the world market. Since 2012, Krefeld has been the company’s European headquarters and also the location of its largest research and development center.
Here’s a historical overview.
With the newly founded European Sales & Services Organization on October 07, 2019, or “ESS” for short, XCMG is establishing a strategically important sales and service center at the Krefeld site with a focus on the European market. Here, where all sales and service activities are coordinated, special emphasis is given on proximity to European customers.
Representatives from politics, research and industry gathered on October 10, 2013 for this opening ceremony to officially celebrate the inauguration of the European XCMG headquarters in an appropriate setting. In addition to the official inauguration at the architecturally impressive XCMG headquarters, there was plenty of opportunity to indulge in the cultural and culinary offerings during an informal exchange of experiences.
With the establishment of the European Purchasing Center, or “EPC” for short on July 07, 2013, XCMG is once again moving closer to its partners. Short distances and intensive communication are just as much a given as short reaction times and quick decisions. From here, everything is purchased centrally in Europe, which is then used in the individual products of XCMG.
With the ceremony of the NRW Invest Award on July 09, 2013, NRW Global Business honors exemplary investments in North Rhine-Westphalia. At the same time, this prestigious award is representative of all investors who have chosen North Rhine-Westphalia as a location. XCMG receives this award in 2013 for its outstanding commitment and economic development in the state of NRW.
The European Research Center, or “ERC” for short, is one of XCMG’s most modern research and development center and by far the largest development center outside China. Here, “best-in-class” technologies are developed with “best-in-class” engineers, in multinational teams and closely interlinked with the business units in China.
With the groundbreaking ceremony on July 06, 2012, the extensive construction measures in the industrial area “Europark Fichtenhain” were started and from then on, one of the most modern and, above all, the largest research and development center of the XCMG Group outside China was finally built on the former greenfield site.
Present at the groundbreaking ceremony, in addition to representatives from politics and business, was the CEO of the XCMG Group, Mr. Wang Min himself.
September 19, 2011 starts as a memorable day in the history of XCMG. On the morning of September 19, 2011, Mr. Li Suoyun signed the purchase agreement for the property and at 11:00 a.m. he was honorably received by the mayor and about 60 invited guests at Krefeld City Hall for the signing of the partnership agreement between the city of Krefeld and XCMG Europe.
