XCMG operates the largest research centre of the XCMG Group outside of China in Krefeld. Our highly specialised development engineers work here, among other things, on the functional safety of selected XCMG construction machines, such as our FMEA specialist, who is currently completing her doctorate in “Safety Function-FMEA – A new kind of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) for safety application standard DIN EN ISO 13849” at the TU Dresden. In the context of the 12th International Fluid Technical Colloquium (12th IFK) in October 2020, she published a technical paper on -FMEA, which appeared in the accompanying TU Dresden publication. You can read more about it here.

FMEA stands for “Failure Mode and Effects Analysis” and refers to the analytical methods of risk reduction. FMEA is an integral part of the development process in the automotive industry but is neither clearly described nor established in the field of mobile construction machinery. We are therefore pleased that our employees are deepening their expertise and working on the pulse of research in order to sustainably improve our construction machinery.

XCMG welcomes and promotes the transfer of knowledge with universities as we drive and continuously expand innovations.
